The ClassroomThe Students
As a student, you are placed into a virtual classroomwith other students from around the world. The students in these classrooms will be simultaneously working on the same assignments and collaborating together on projects. There is a weekly class meeting where students get together with the instructor for an online discussion. Students will share ideas, comment on each others' work and ask questions, as well as develop lasting connections and friendships with other students from around the world. | 
|  | The Workspace
The Workspace is the online platform where you will go to download videos, written material, participate in discussions, exchange music files and ideas. The Workspace is a collaborative online work environment where students can exchange ideas, files, songs, comments and messages with each other and the instructor. All assignments will be turned into the Workspace. Each student will receive an optional email account with the @soundlab1.com address for communicating with other students and the instructor.
| The Library
This is no ordinary library. This library is filled with sounds, songs, beats, loops, and music that can be downloaded free of charge to use in projects and assignments. Students will also upload their own work to the library so that it may be used and heard by other students. |

| The "Textbook"
Several presentations will be available for download to help students learn a variety of vocabulary and terms, as well as recording techniques and information vital to being successful at recording their own music. These presentations are for students to download and keep, are included in the cost, and considered the “textbook” for the course. Several other reference material resources will be presented, many of which can be checked out from your local library.
| The Webcast
You will attend a weekly webcast on your own time. This webcast will give instruction on a variety of topics including recording, editing, sampling, sequencing, mixing, and promoting, to name a few. Students will take what they have learned during the webcast and apply it to a weekly project. Webcasts will also feature guest lecturers who are professionals in the field of music production.

| The Radio
Sound Lab 1 is developing its own internet radio station to be streaming 24/7, broadcasting original and student-created content. Your music will be featured on SoundLab Radio and be heard world-wide! Send links to their friends and family to tune in and listen to your accomplishments! |
